Radha Maa and Krishna ji express the soul’s longing and the Lord’s grace—divine play (lila), kirtan, and bhakti.

How to recognize each figure

Krishna ji

  • Emblems (depends on the picture): Two-armed sweet images: bansuri (flute) is the key—not a battle scene. When shown as four-armed Vishnu / Jagannath style, look for Sudarshan chakra, gada (mace), shankha (conch), lotus—then weapon language fits fully. The Sharanga bow appears in some Ram / warrior-themed Krishna ji panels—use the story to tell which form it is.
  • Adornments: Peacock feather in crown, pitambar (yellow cloth), forest garland.
  • Dress: Shringara (beauty) style dominates love-images; Krishna ji as archer or four-armed may wear light warrior bands.
  • Vahana: No classical mount in Radha–Krishna couple murtis; Garuda belongs to Vishnu ji in his great (supreme) form.

Radha Maa

  • Weapons: None—lotus, garland, folded hands (anjali)—all bhakti signs.
  • Adornments: Bridal / milkmaid dress, flowers, gold; color styles differ by region.
  • Form: Beside or facing Krishna ji—love-murti, not a battle form.
