How to recognize each figure

Vishnu ji

  • Weapons: Shankha (conch), Sudarshan chakra (discus), gada (mace), lotus—same four-arm set as other Vishnu murtis; the chakra is the clearest divine weapon.
  • Dress: Often royal crown, necklaces, armlets; some forms add clearer battle jewelry on the body.
  • Color & cloth: Blue skin, pitambar (yellow cloth).
  • Position: Stands or sits on Garuda—Lord and vahana shown together.

Garuda (vehicle / great eagle)

  • Weapons: Not a full god-arsenal—his strength is wings, talons, beak; sometimes snakes held or underfoot (snake lore).
  • Form: Eagle / kite being—wings, beak, often green or gold feathers; details vary by region.
  • Posture: Hands cupped to carry the Lord, or bent forward under his weight—service and strength.
